{"id":50181,"date":"2015-04-27T19:29:29","date_gmt":"2015-04-28T01:29:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2015\/04\/27\/the-ghost-town-that-would-not-die.html"},"modified":"2015-05-05T16:21:48","modified_gmt":"2015-05-05T22:21:48","slug":"the-ghost-town-that-would-not-die","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2015\/04\/27\/the-ghost-town-that-would-not-die.html","title":{"rendered":"The &quot;Ghost Town&quot; That Would Not Die"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#39;s pleasant to read an article that makes the non-kneejerk case that Google+ is <i>not<\/i> a ghost town, that there are a <i>lot<\/i> of folk active on it, and if it&#39;s not beating Facebook &#8230; who cares?<\/p>\n<p>(I will add anecdotally that I know several people who primarily, or even solely, post to private circles only &#8212; data that none of the public metrics can measures, obviously.)<\/p>\n<p>I see no particular reason to abandon G+ at this point, and haven&#39;t seen any exodus of people I follow that makes me think I will any time soon. The only significant lack is an API for posting material &#8212; which is a conscious choice of Google&#39;s that limits some of the utility of the system even as it keeps it from being &#8230; well, an (automated) echo chamber of Facebook and other social media.
