And … neither of those fazes you, Sen. Graham? That the side that lost the civil war against the federal government you've given an oath to protect, that you're seeking to become the president of right now, has their symbol celebrated at the statehouse? Let alone that others see it, and the regime it stood for, as racist, and that the symbol is still used that way today? None of that causes you any problems you care to comment on?<\/p>\n

"The problems we have in South Carolina and throughout the world are not because of a movie or symbols, it's because of what's in people's heart."<\/i><\/p>\n

Really, Sen. Graham? Symbols aren't meaningful, aren;t powerful, aren't rallying points? They don't cause problems? Then why cling to this particular one? Why not fly a Union Jack? Or a flag of the Third Reich? Or a rainbow Gay Pride flag? Or the ISIL flag? I mean, they're only symbols … and some folk relate to them, and other think they are horrid, but it's what's in people's hearts<\/i> that matters, right?<\/p>\n
