Very cool. Loudon Wainwright III <\/a>is appearing in concert up in Boulder <\/a>next month, and Margie and I are going. We caught his concert at the Denver Botanic Gardens a couple of summers back and had a blast.<\/p>\n

For those unfamiliar with him, LWIII is a guitar-strumming singer-songwriter who specializes in wry, sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant, sometimes both, commentary, particularly of an autobiographical kind. He’s in his 50s, and has been doing this schtick since the early 70s. He is probably most famous for his tune, “Dead Skunk (in the Middle of the Road),” which is an awful shame. He’s also done a fair number of TV appearances (including as a recurring guitar-playing surgeon on M*A*S*H).<\/p>\n
