Les has been doing some extensive reviewing <\/a>of the public beta of MT 3.0, and now Mena Trott comments on the new release, which can be summed up as, we’ve completely rebuilt the chassis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Which, for folks looking for a band new body, a high-powered stereo, and a chrome-plated lunch dispenser, will be a disappointment. <\/p>\n

But once you have the chassis, the rest of it can be built a lot more easily. Indeed, loading a bunch of features on an old chassis can ultimately only lead to troubles. The new MT API will let much more sophisticated and powerful plug-ins — some from Six Apart, and some, likely, for pay — be built, adding the features that folks want to add.<\/p>\n
