\nShowers and isolated thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon. By sunset… gusty northeast winds will usher in much colder air to the area and the precipitation will change over to snow. Due to strong upslope flow… the snow will be heavy at times in areas near the foothills and in the southern suburbs near the Palmer Divide. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches will be possible in these areas… with substantially lesser amounts east of I-25. The snow will be heavy and wet… causing a sizable threat to outdoor vegetation.<\/p>\n
