Yeesh. No jokes about that thunder\/hailstorm here yesterday. The water level in the retention ponds is still wildly high, and I can see where it went about 20-25 ft. upslope from the edge of the rocks, at or above the tree line. The down channel from Denver West Blvd, which is usually a small crick, is roaring and jumping even now, up to the top of its rock-and-concrete bed, and clearly overflowed its banks substantially, too. At the end of the retention pond by my office building, all three drain pipes are gushing, rather than just one desultorily gurgling, and I can see where the water overflowed the dam.<\/p>\n
And the streets show where they flooded, and all of the deciduous trees lost about 5-10% of their leaves, and even the pine trees were losing cones and needles and twigs.<\/p>\n
