Eventually.<\/p>\n<p>There are <i>some <\/i>indications that the licensing schema put out is only preliminary, for the &#8220;Developer&#8217;s Edition.&#8221;  That still sounds goofy (since the DE looks like it&#8217;s a gamma release), but we&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n<p>6A has been (justly, and ironically) criticized in the past for being communication-averse.  This may be part of that, and the kind of brouhaha from yesterday may make them even <i>slower <\/i>to respond, for fear of stepping on themselves again.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcworld.com\/news\/article\/0,aid,116134,00.asp\"><i>PC World <\/i>article<\/a> that talks more about the new release (though not the brouhaha).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m hoping either that there&#8217;s been some significant miscommunication from 6A, or the angry response will get them to reconsider their plans.  In either case, quick response from 6A is critical &#8212; controversy (like nature) abhors a vacuum, and lack of communciation only lets rumors and vitriol become set as the &#8220;real&#8221; story in people&#8217;s minds (a situation I see in way too many other cases).<\/p>\n<p><u>UPDATE<\/u>:  On the other hand, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mamawrite.com\/pastlife\/04\/05\/educational_pricing_for_mt_30.php\">this <\/a>isn&#8217;t promising.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Les provides some good advice on the MT3 furor: let&#8217;s all take a deep breath, swallow a Chill Pill, and see what SixApart has to say.
