{"id":6347,"date":"2004-09-17T10:46:01","date_gmt":"2004-09-17T17:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2004\/09\/17\/disc-onnected.html"},"modified":"2004-09-17T10:46:01","modified_gmt":"2004-09-17T17:46:01","slug":"disc_onnected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2004\/09\/17\/disc_onnected.html","title":{"rendered":"Disc-onnected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While the tech companies argue over which next-generatoin DVD format is likely to be the &#8220;winner,&#8221; and media companies try to push as much as they can on the current DVD before getting everyone to buy (the same) stuff in the new format, <a title=\"Boing Boing: Mark Cuban, DVD killer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2004\/09\/17\/mark_cuban_dvd_kille.html\">the whole removable format concept is going the way of the dinosaurs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">Good. The longer it takes, the less chance any format of DVD has of having a place in the future of home entertainment. Don&#8217;t look now, but the price and size of hard drives have fallen like a rock, while capacities have soared, with no slowdown in site.<br \/>\nWhich leads to the question &#8212; What is the best way to distribute content?
