{"id":6445,"date":"2004-09-01T09:25:07","date_gmt":"2004-09-01T16:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2004\/09\/01\/branded-2.html"},"modified":"2004-09-01T09:25:07","modified_gmt":"2004-09-01T16:25:07","slug":"branded_2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2004\/09\/01\/branded_2.html","title":{"rendered":"Branded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An interesting look at how folks <a title=\"Brand Autopsy: Brand Mapping the Presidential Candidates\" href=\"http:\/\/brandautopsy.typepad.com\/brandautopsy\/2004\/08\/brand_mapping_t.html\">associate commercial brands with the presidential candidates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">The study reveals Bush supporters associate the brand called Bush with brands that evoke attributes such as &#8230; \u201creliable, humble, heritage, and solid.\u201d  Kerry supporters associate the brand called Kerry with brands that convey attributes of \u201chigh-quality, high-performance, hip, and young.\u201d  Undecided voters associate more trendy and upscale brands with Kerry and attach more common and mainstay brands with Bush.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, everybody associates Bush with IBM, but while both Bush supporters and Undecideds link Kerry to Apple, Kerry&#8217;s supporters see him as more of a Dell sort of guy.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, while Bush supporters see his coffee attribution as Folgers, Kerry supporters and Undecideds think he&#8217;s more of a Dunkin&#8217; Donuts sort of fellow &#8212; and they all agree that Kerry is Starbucks.<\/p>\n<p>Hmmm.
