{"id":6625,"date":"2004-08-11T13:11:33","date_gmt":"2004-08-11T20:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2004\/08\/11\/symbolic-2.html"},"modified":"2004-08-11T13:11:33","modified_gmt":"2004-08-11T20:11:33","slug":"symbolic_2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2004\/08\/11\/symbolic_2.html","title":{"rendered":"Symbolic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have managed to avoid installing <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/?kbid=833407\" target=\"_blank\">Critical Update for Windows (KB833407)<\/a> since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2004\/04\/01\/oooooh_critical.html\" target=\"_blank\">it came out in April<\/a>, not because of any great fondness for the symbol it&#8217;s removing from the Bookshelf Symbol 7 font, but because I deeply resent M$ making this a <em>critical <\/em>update.<\/p>\n<p>(That it removes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2004\/02\/11\/ms_tears_swastika_from_roof\/\" target=\"_blank\">another symbol, too<\/a>, is also irksome.)<\/p>\n<p>Well, in installing some other security update stuff the other day, evidently it turned on the Automatic Updates feature, which downloaded the patch, and which now keeps coming up and asking when I&#8217;m going to install it.
