{"id":6693,"date":"2004-08-02T06:39:04","date_gmt":"2004-08-02T13:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2004\/08\/02\/weekend-update-17.html"},"modified":"2004-08-02T06:39:04","modified_gmt":"2004-08-02T13:39:04","slug":"weekend_update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2004\/08\/02\/weekend_update.html","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The weekend was largely about playing games, which, I suppose, is not as bad as some other passtimes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday <\/strong>we wrapped up the current arc in the <em>Sorcerer <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/random.average-bear.com\/Bibliophage\/HomePage\" target=\"_blank\">Bibliophage <\/a>game. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2004\/07\/31\/thats_a_wrap.html\" target=\"_blank\"> &#8216;Nuff said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday <\/strong>day I did some cleaning up around the house for the forthcoming residing.  That included both moving stuff away from the house and chopping back a couple of lilacs and a climbing rose.<\/p>\n<p>That night Stan and the Testerfolk came by, and (after dinner and Invader Zim) we ran through some of the new games picked up from the Con.  Doyce provided <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.atlas-games.com\/beermoney\/\" target=\"_blank\">Beer Money<\/a> <\/em>(which, if you like <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.atlas-games.com\/product_tables\/AG1100.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lunch Money<\/a>, <\/em>is right up the same dark alley), and I provided the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/unnaturalaxe\/\" target=\"_blank\">Unnatural Axe<\/a> <\/em>expansion for <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/munchkin\/game\" target=\"_blank\">Munchkin<\/a>, <\/em>along with <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sjgames.com\/chezgeek\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chez Geek<\/a>.<\/em>  It was my first experience with the Chez line, and I can see why they&#8217;ve been successful; even though we were all kind of tired by that time, we picked up the rules (more or less) pretty quickly, and had a good time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, <\/strong>after the usual morning milling about, was Margie&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/VID\/VoyageIntoDiscovery\" target=\"_blank\">Voyage into Discovery<\/a> game, continuing for the first time in several weeks (illness and vacations having taken their toll).  We managed to be heroic adventurers again, even if we don&#8217;t have a fighter or a thief in the group, and managed to make ourselves quite a bit richer in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Also Sunday (during the game), one of the siding guys came by to confirm some materials choices prior to ordering today.  The plan is for them to start work a week from Thursday\/Friday or so.
