And since I doubt I&#8217;ll ever have a book dust jacket talking about how cool I am, or that such a gathering of things will ever be collected in such a fashion until my funeral (at which time I expect I&#8217;ll be busy with other things), I just have to collect them here.<\/p>\n<p>Forgive me for the raw narcissism.  Feel free to move on to something else &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2005\/01\/03\/if_you_cant_say_1.html\" target=\"_blank\">my post<\/a> of this (which <em>didn&#8217;t <\/em>require people to say nice things about me), Ian said:  <em>***Dave is cool because he&#8217;s modest about his use of stars. He writes the most level-headed analyses of the world around us, even if I don&#8217;t always agree with his views, in a way that is very digestible by the lay person.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.average-bear.com\/archive\/004907.html\" target=\"_blank\">Doyce&#8217;s rendition<\/a> (which turned into a huge hug fest &#8212; not that there&#8217;s anything wrong with that):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jackie said:  <em>Dave is just about the best human being I know.<\/em>\n<li>Doyce said:  <em>Dave always tries to wear a t-shirt that matches our weekend activities. <\/em>\n<li>Boulder Dude called me:  <em>Jean Val Jean.<\/em>\n<li>De admired:  <em>Dave&#8217;s puns, which are bad enough to make me laugh, but not so bad I have to leave the room, a nice distinction. He also [referring to our writing activities] eateth of the constructive criticism before noon.<\/em><\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cthb.org\/archives\/2005\/01\/saying_somethin.html#comments\" target=\"_blank\">Ian opined<\/a> in his own blog:  <em>*** Dave is cool because he keeps up on the cutting edge of blogging, which means that maybe a year after he&#8217;s added something to his site, I might add it to mine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chirographum.com\/weblog\/index.php?p=1809\" target=\"_blank\">Steve suggested<\/a>:  <em>***Dave is cool because he says <\/em>Queen and Country<\/em> is cool?and he?s right!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And I think that&#8217;s all I spotted (or kept track of).<\/p>\n<p>Amazing.
