Despite it being Sunday, 2 January, we had a full but not overbooked flight on Frontier from SNA to DEN. Indeed, they had the shortest counter lines, the friendliest service, and the quickest turn-around (balancing the jet that was late) of the trip.<\/p>\n
We were expecting — and almost hoping — for bump offers. Indeed, the America West flight to Phoenix departing from the gate in front of us was offering $500 bumps, plus a shuttle bus over to Long Beach Airport and a lunch voucher. No such “luck” on our flight.<\/p>\n
The inflight DirecTV was showing many fun channels, including Boomerang. Alas, it flipped over to “pay” mode once we were in the air, and just as I was getting into Thundarr the Barbarian<\/em>.<\/p>\n Flew home without a hitch, and Jackie picked us up at the airport, bless’er. Two carts full of big bags. We drove home, Katherine made little gasping noises about the New Bicycle Santa Left Her (“I got everything I wanted!”), and we did the test drive on same (preserved on videotape).<\/p>\n It was only about 3 or so by then, so we invited the Testerfolk over to dinner to exchange notes (i.e., for Doyce to be able to show me what all the fuss about City of Heroes is). At which point Margie sent me to the store to get some cream, and …<\/p>\n … um, the Subaru wouldn’t start. Like, dead, dead, dead.<\/p>\n We jumped it off the van, and let it run for some time, but it wouldn’t turn back over again. So I need to find out if the battery is covered by warranty and get it fixed sometime over the next few days.<\/p>\n I also have to get my drivers license renewed in the next couple of days (thanks, Margie, for noting that).
