Granted, fewer people are &#8220;doing it&#8221; than in the past, but, still &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So I tried posting something to another of my blogs, pointing back at a post here.<\/p>\n<p>The post session gets an odd message:<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">Odd number of elements in hash assignment at (eval 35) line 7. line 268.<\/p>\n<p>That repeats serveral times.<\/p>\n<p>The Activity Log, in turn, shows:<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">Ping &#8216;https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/mt\/mt-tb.cgi\/6982&#8217; failed: HTTP error: 404 Not Found<\/p>\n<p>Hrm.  Especially since I can see that trackbacks are turned on for that post, and that&#8217;s the value that comes up for that page to ping to.<\/p>\n<p>Time for a little research.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE:  Well.  It would help if the file <em>mt-tb.cgi <\/em>actually <em>existed<\/em>.  Hmmmm.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE:  Which may be related to <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.hmdns.net\/showthread.php?t=12554&#038;highlight=mt-tb.cgi\" target=\"_blank\">this thread<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE:  Okay, renamed my mt-tb.cgi file (on my hard drive, then uploaded it) and updated the mt.cfg file to match it (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elise.com\/mt\/archives\/000246concerning_spam.php\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>).
