Moreover, MGM&#8217;s recent sale to Sony looks set to further muddy the water.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think there is probably a will and a desire to try and get The Hobbit made,&#8221; Jackson told fans. &#8220;But I think it&#8217;s gonna be a lot of lawyers sitting in a room trying to thrash out a deal before it will ever happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Asked to provide a possible timescale, he said: &#8220;Three or four years would be accurate, I would say.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, Jackson has a pretty full plate right now.<\/p>\n<p>Hope we don&#8217;t see key talent (e.g., Ian McKellan) being forced to drop out of the project because of the passing years &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t expect Peter Jackson&#8217;s Hobbit for at least 3-4 years.
