{"id":7372,"date":"2005-03-18T07:55:03","date_gmt":"2005-03-18T14:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2005\/03\/18\/ad-trivia.html"},"modified":"2005-03-18T07:55:03","modified_gmt":"2005-03-18T14:55:03","slug":"ad_trivia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2005\/03\/18\/ad_trivia.html","title":{"rendered":"Ad trivia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I run <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/adsense\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google&#8217;s AdSense<\/a> ads here.<\/p>\n<p>Just for the record, since I started it in June 2004 &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; I have had 80,876 page impressions register with Google.<br \/>\n&#8230; I have had 112 clicks on ads.<br \/>\n&#8230; I have netted (hypothetically) $20.33.  <\/p>\n<p>I say &#8220;hypothetically&#8221; because Google doesn&#8217;t send out checks for under $100.<\/p>\n<p>On the one hand, it probably represents a slow-down of page loads that&#8217;s not worth it.  On the other hand, there have been over a hundred instances of visits here where someone thought an ad looked interesting enough to click on, not to mention the mild amusement of seeing how Google slots a particular post for ads.  So I&#8217;ll probably keep &#8217;em around, for at least a while longer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I run Google&#8217;s AdSense ads here.
