{"id":7413,"date":"2005-03-11T08:16:55","date_gmt":"2005-03-11T15:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2005\/03\/11\/catscratch-fever.html"},"modified":"2005-03-11T08:16:55","modified_gmt":"2005-03-11T15:16:55","slug":"catscratch_feve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2005\/03\/11\/catscratch_feve.html","title":{"rendered":"Catscratch Fever"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Got a call a couple of nights ago from the house up at the corner, one of Indy&#8217;s adoptive home (he considers the whole street his extended family), saying that he&#8217;d shown up at their doorstep with some sort of a wound.<\/p>\n<p>We went up and recovered him, and found he had some bad scratches or bites around his jaw and throat from some sort of a tussle.  (My impression from Margie is that it sounds like from another cat.)  We smeared some bacitracin on it, closed the <s>blast doors<\/s> kitty flap, and headed to bed.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, Indy seemed okay, and went out.  In the evening we saw him while going on a bicycle walk with Katherine.  He had some more serious swelling around the injuries, but no fever.
