RIP to Ed Bishop<\/a>, best known<\/a> (to me, at least) as Commander Straker<\/a> in the short-lived UFO <\/em>show by Gerry Anderson. (Ironically, Michael Billington<\/a>, who<\/a> played Paul Foster in the same show died two days earlier<\/a>.) (Both also had roles in Bond flicks.)<\/p>\n

And RIP to Dana Elcar<\/a>, too, who played in a zillion things, but was best known to me as Col. Lard in Black Sheep Squadron<\/em> and Pete Thornton on MacGyver<\/em>. Oh, yeah, and he was in The Sting<\/em>. Any TV show or movie that called for an obnoxious and\/or officious and\/or bullying, bald, stocky guy, that was Dana Elcar. Good, solid actor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And, I’ll be darned, RIP<\/a> to Leon Askin<\/a>, a Jewish refugee from the Nazis who went on to fame as, among other things, General Burkhalter on Hogan’s Heroes<\/em>.<\/p>\n
