I’m often fascinated by apartment building names (housing development names go right alongside). They usually represent either pretensions at grandeur (“The Regal Arms”) or tranquility (“The Driftwood”). Neither usually applies to the reality — the “Tahiti Breezes” may have a palm tree in front of it or something, but that’s usually about it. But they are, at least, evocative of something, usually the sense of affluence and shelter.<\/p>\n
Over by Katherine’s school, there’s an apartment building with the name, “The Ocelot.”<\/p>\n
