I am not into hunting. That is to say, I have neither the need, the patience, nor the whatever-it-is-they-get-out-of-it to go out hunting. Shooting animals from cover with a high-powered rifle does not fulfill any needs that I can’t get from a good session of Quake<\/i>.<\/p>\n

But though I find hunting to be — well, I won’t belabor that point, but, frankly, this article<\/a> strikes me as just goofiness from the anti-hunting crowd.<\/p>\n

Anne Muller of Wildlife Watch is aghast that being armed and disguised in camouflage is legally permitted in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Hunting “is just a wonderful opportunity for someone who would want to do a terrorist act,” Muller said. “They don’t have to report their whereabouts and can be lurking anywhere. They can lurk in groups.”<\/p>\n

It seems to me that way too many folks, on all axes of the political multiverse, are seizing on terrorism as a lever to advance their cause.<\/p>\n
