{"id":8525,"date":"2005-10-19T07:58:58","date_gmt":"2005-10-19T14:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2005\/10\/19\/another-day-another-kvetch.html"},"modified":"2014-07-13T10:52:35","modified_gmt":"2014-07-13T16:52:35","slug":"another_day_ano-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2005\/10\/19\/another_day_ano-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Another day, another kvetch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a remarkably gloomy day out there, I&#8217;ve been at work almost two hours, and am dealing with more than my share of crises <em>du jour<\/em>.  <\/p>\n<p>I have two international transfers that are only slightly less complex to negotiate and execute than, say, SALT II, or the Kyoto Protocols.  <\/p>\n<p>I have a staff review which is going to be late.<\/p>\n<p>I have multiple development efforts being delayed to the point of other work getting cancelled due to major database problems that either our DBAs, SysAdmins, Production Control, or Oracle technical representatives are unable to solve.  And I got (rightfully) bawled out for not addressing my complaints to my peer manager who is in charge of at least some of that, rather than venting to my boss.<\/p>\n<p>I have Urgent Stuff To Deliver To My Boss by this afternoon that hasn&#8217;t even been started.<\/p>\n<p>I have another two projects that are nebulous in terms of schedule and scope but for which I have to present some concrete IT cost estimates (including staffing levels) Real Soon Now.<\/p>\n<p>I have some unpleasant HR issues hanging fire.<\/p>\n<p>And my back hurts.
