{"id":8818,"date":"2006-04-11T08:47:37","date_gmt":"2006-04-11T15:47:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2006\/04\/11\/how-not-to-get-a-job.html"},"modified":"2006-04-11T08:47:37","modified_gmt":"2006-04-11T15:47:37","slug":"how_not_to_get","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2006\/04\/11\/how_not_to_get.html","title":{"rendered":"How not to get a job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unusual resume items, odd interview interactions, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meyerweb.com\/other\/humor\/interview.html\" target=\"_blank\">all sorts of other chucklers regarding job applicants<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some interesting:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>A job applicant challenged the interviewer to an arm wrestle.\n<li>Interviewee wore a Walkman, explaining that she could listen to the interviewer and the music at the same time.\n<li>Candidate announced she hadn&#8217;t had lunch and proceeded to eat a hamburger and french fries in the interviewer&#8217;s office.\n<li>Candidate said he never finished high school because he was kidnapped and kept in a closet in Mexico.\n<li>Balding candidate excused himself and returned to the office a few minutes later wearing a headpiece. <\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And some &#8230; intriguing statements by interviewees.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;I have no difficulty in starting or holding my bowel movement.&#8221;\n<li>&#8220;At times I have the strong urge to do something harmful or shocking.&#8221;\n<li>&#8220;I feel uneasy indoors.&#8221;\n<li>&#8220;Sometimes I feel like smashing things.&#8221;\n<li>&#8220;Women should not be allowed to drink in cocktail bars.&#8221;<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Those actually searching for work should take note, if only as an example of what not to do (or of what is seen as notably unusual by interviewers).
