Add this to the list of Things I Currently Have No Intention of Doing<\/a>: setting a new world record for body piercings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

About three hours into the world record-setting event, 21-year-old Matt Robison sat still, piercings poking up and down his arm as one of his bigger tattoos, the red-inked phrase “Don’t Ever Judge Me,” faced toward onlookers.<\/p>\n

“When I told people I was going to do this, most of the time they looked at me like I’m crazy. They don’t think I’ll do it,” Robison said. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Um, it’s not the thought that you won’t <\/em>do it that makes them look at you like you’re crazy, Matt.<\/p>\n

And that “Don’t Ever Judge Me” tat? Nice touch.<\/p>\n

Robison, an apprentice piercer at The Pit Studio in Ottawa, set a world record Saturday by getting pierced 1,016 times in one sitting.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ow.<\/p>\n

He was originally going to go for 1,000, to beat the previous record of 600. But that record-holder had just bumped the record up to 1,015. Robinson then considered going for 1,200, but it turned out to be “too painful” and too long to do.<\/p>\n

Before Saturday, Robison had 26 piercings on his body. After the record was set Saturday, 1,015 of his new piercings were removed, leaving one in his body — the record breaker.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Actually, having only 27 piercings seems almost sane after that. Almost.<\/p>\n
