There’s a story here …<\/p>\n

… so, yesterday, Katherine informed us that her “school name” was “Kay.” She’d started telling her teachers and the like about it. And today she informed us that she wants it to be her home name, too.<\/p>\n

Seems that she got the idea when she met someone named “Jay.” And she realized that “Kay” was a lot shorter to write than “Katherine.”<\/p>\n

My little girl … (sniff) … all growing up.<\/p>\n

Of course, we chose the name “Katherine” precisely because it had so many possible variations. That she’s chosen one of those variations already is still kind of jarring. And we’ll see how long it lasts (not buying anything engraved for her as yet).<\/p>\n

And, of course, she’ll always be our little Kitten.<\/p>\n
