Collegiate Dictionary has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meriamwebster.com\/info\/new_words.htm\" target=\"_blank\">its new word list<\/a> out.&nbsp; Some of the highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nTechnology and Computers: <em>mouse potato, ringtone, spyware<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nScience and Medicine:&nbsp; <em>avian influenza, biodiesel, gastric bypass<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nPop Culture:&nbsp; <em>soul patch, supersize, unibrow<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nEntertainment and Leisure:&nbsp; <em>labelmate, wave pool<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nThe Human Condition:&nbsp; <em>drama queen, unibrow<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nInternational:&nbsp; <em>manga, qigong<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nBusiness and Industry:&nbsp; <em>agritourism, big-box<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNature:&nbsp; <em>aquascape, coqui<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMiscellaneous: <em>polyamory, sandwich generation<\/em>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Had to look a couple of them up, I&#8217;ll confess.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/seattlepi.nwsource.com\/national\/1110AP_Dictionarys_New_Words.html?source=rss\" target=\"_blank\">Another word added<\/a>:&nbsp; <em>google<\/em>, as a verb (though the definition still capitalizes the firm it&#8217;s associated with).<\/p>\n<p>You can also see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meriamwebster.com\/info\/reform-glossary.htm\" target=\"_blank\">the new words in 1806<\/a>&nbsp;(which is interesting if, for nothing else, to see what words have since vanished or changed their meanings).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Merriam-Webster&#8217;s 11th Ed.
