UPDATE<\/u>: Now it can be told …<\/em><\/p>\n

So I’m traveling this week to California, on business (which I intentionally didn’t blog about). I’m here to welcome (and meet) the new project manager I just hired, who (God willing) is about to make my life a lot<\/em> easier.<\/p>\n

And, looking at the calendar, I realize what this particular date will be. So I call my dad, and Make Secret Arrangements. I learn from him that he and Mom are going out to a nice birthday dinner at Tulipano<\/a>, at 7.<\/p>\n

So I drive there after work, and wait in the parking lot until they arrive, and sneak up on them and wish my mom a quiet Happy Birthday.<\/p>\n

Hilarity — and a very fine, convivial evening, not to mention meal — ensues. Assisted by my brother showing up as well.<\/p>\n

Good times.<\/p>\n
