The Wendy’s at County Line and Quebec was gone.

Well, not gone-gone But, like magic, all the signage was removed, and all the windows shuttered up. And not cheap 4×8 plywood kind of shuttered, but very nicely sealed with painted external wood paneling, Very elegant, almost like it had rolled big security shutters across all its windows.

Then, a few minutes later, we saw that another Wendy’s on Yosemite was closed, in just the same way. Though later that evening we saw another Wendy’s on Santa Fe open.

According to this article, Wendy’s is closing “up to 40 company-owned restaurants over the next six months.” Not sure if this is part of that or something different (that was the only item I could find via Google). In either case, I have to complement Wendy’s on the very professional-looking shuttering of those two stores, and express my hopes that someone will open up something in the one we first
noticed some time soon; it’s way too convenient a location for us (on our way to the freeway) for it to remain closed.

Driving on errands on Friday and … poof.
