  1. My friends, I need your help. After infecting me with an enervating virus, Dr. Vahzilok fled into the sewers of King’s Row. A cure for the virus was found, but now I must stop the evil doctor from modifying said virus, and unleashing a deadly plague on our city.
Burning all the bodies he’s using to breed this vile disease would be sufficient, but I would prefer to end the menace of Dr. Vahzilok once and for all.
    Who is with me?
    –Avocet

  2. Let me know time and place…and what kind of AT will be needed.

  3. Monday nights (tonight, for example) are the only nights I’m sure I can be here when you folks log on.
Avocet’s a level 20 Blaster, so expect foes of the same level. Velvet’s a level 19 Tank, and P-Siren’s an 18 Defender. I suspect we could use another tank, or perhaps a Controller. I’ll take what I can get, though.
After some quick research into our foes, it looks like Dr. Vahzilok and some of his Eidolons are vulnerable to fire, if anybody has that capability. The Reapers and Abominations have a vulnerability to lethal damage, which I also am incabale of generating.

  4. I have a couple of toons that are fire (fire/blaster, fire/tanker, fire/controller) but, they would need to be SK’d up. Not sure if that would be more valuable than PS.

  5. P-Siren is invaluable. I’d suggest she come along on this one. (I always feel better with her at my back!)

  6. Bubbles are *always* of value. 🙂
Velvet, as a super-strength smasher, is at a dis-ad to the Vahz (esp. with the whole Toxic Vomit thang), but she’s game.
Torchielle could SK in (she’s at 14 right now), as a fire blaster. I don’t think the mish would push her out of the needed range for the Cave.
I think if we had Velvet, Avocet, P-Siren, and one of BD’s toons (a scrapper would probably be good, but another blaster or controller would be okay), we could probably do it.

  7. So far, every time I’ve joined a group doing this one, it’s been 8+ people.
The first time was pretty much a disaster.
The second time, everything went fine until we got to Dr V. During the climactic final battle, several players said, “Sorry to leave during a battle, but I have to go now,” and disconnected! We were massacred. Team leader invited several more heroes. When the first of four arrived, he suggested that if I used a full-power snipe to weaken the Boss, he could take him down before he could reach us. Before the leader and the other new heroes could get back into the mission, Supermoron charged in and attacked Dr V! Needless to say, it did not go well, though I did manage to flee the sewers.
I won’t even discuss the subsequent attempt by this same group of people.

  8. Well, I linked to my sole Dr. V experience above.
I haven’t done any exhaustive research, but, in general, 4 is a threshold before mishes start to escalate in numbers/color.
Which isn’t to say that 8 can’t be fun, but 8 gives you larger mobs, of higher colors, with more LTs/bosses.
Which is to say that, 4 is cool. More is cool. It’s all cool.

  9. Well, this was the best Dr. V. mission I’ve experienced. No casualties, and I picked up my first SO Enhancement!
Of course, Velvet did her share of grousing about Avocet’s knockback, but the only attack he has without KB is Chillblain, and the living dead don’t freeze too well. I did try to make up for it by freezing the Morties right in front of her, though.
My thanks to everybody for helping me to complete that story arc. It was most satisfying. I hope to repay the favor soon.

  10. Thank you. Much better mish (in execution and results) than the first one I was on.
    I’ll post some pics tomorrow.
