How to make the time pass faster in Post Office lines?

Remove the clocks.

That, of course, is not the reason clocks have been removed from the public areas of some 37,000 post offices over the last year. Instead it’s all about a “retail standardization program.”

The effort is designed to give the public-service areas a more uniform appearance […] “We want people to focus on postal service and not the clock,” said Stephen Seewoester, Dallas spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service.

Because swiftness is clearly not part of “postal service,” it appears.
