  1. Yeah, it seems that lower level (as in non-director) jobs are flooding the market, while higher level seem to be far and few between. I was given the advise to apply directly on the company's website whenever possible and it paid off. Those were the only ones that I got a bite at, where places like Dice seemed to be black holes.

  2. +Michelle Norton Sure, there are always fewer jobs up the food chain, I absolutely expect that.

    It's the crazy results the boards sometimes ("Why, yes, being an HR Clerk II is clearly an 'excellent match' for 'Information Technology Senior Manager' in my area") that drives me to distraction.

    And, yes, if it's a position I'm at all interested in, I try to apply at the company. (And see if I have a connection there that can also get me in touch with the hiring manager.)
