Descending down Wolf Creek was one of the few times I've exceeded 60mph on my bicycle. It's lovely and worth going out of my way for, and hey if it's the shortcut, even better!
Yeah. Though, speaking of speed, heading down the south side of the pass, just before the second runaway truck ramp, we passed by a large truck that had gone over the edge. The trailer made it about 1/3 of the way down the slope, pretty torn apart; the cab made it another third of the way down. Two truck-size winch trucks were pulling the trailer part back up.
It had clearly happened a while ago, as there were just the tow trucks, no EMT or police.
I don't recognize that: which pass?
+John Bump Wolf Creek Pass.
Haven't been down that way for far too long.
+John Bump Was an enjoyable (an marginally shorter) way of getting down to Four Corners.
