It's more complex than all this, and if he was captured in Fallujah it's likely that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi — the leader of ISIL — wasn't some naif formed only by this singular incident. But one has to imagine that being locked up in the notorious American Abu Ghraib prison didn't help the man's stability, equanimity, or attitude toward the West.
