Yup! Those bullets just fired themselves!

Are there Hamas leaders who knew that (continuing) protests at the perimeter of the Gaza Strip would likely draw gunfire from the Israeli Defense Forces? Sure. Are there some who are cynically satisfied that scores have been killed and possibly thousands injured by live fire at Palestinians by the IDF? Probably.

But it takes two to tango, Messrs. Kushner, Shah, and Trump. Even the most cynical moves on the part of Hamas leadership couldn’t work if the IDF and the government that controls it weren’t willing to fire into crowds of protests with live ammunition, in the face of no actual reported injuries, let alone deaths, among the Israeli troops.

Placing the blame for this solely on Hamas while proclaiming this a “great day for Israel” (as the President has) shows either rank ignorance or callousness, or a Trumpian combination of both.
