I believe one could write a book of Trump self-critiques

I.e., things he said in criticism of other presidents (particularly his predecessor) that he's now gotten petard-hoisted himself by.

(This is not solely a Trumpian flaw, to be sure, but he does seem to be a master of it.)

It's not meaningful policy observation, except to note that Trump says a lot of things that turn out to be hyperbole, bombast, or just plain ignorance talking. But it's a mild emotional pleasure in a time that's been hard to find.

  1. As a quick search reveals, http://www.google.com/search?q=trump+nero some have independently compared Trump to Nero — who happens to have long been rumoured the target of the numerical allusion via the famous number 666 in the last verse of this same chapter 13 of Revelation. It's thus amusing to exhibit that ASCII invites an adaptation of the gematria that's reputed to map the name of Nero to 666, embodied in the following Python expression:

sum(ord(c)-ord(' ') for c in "DONALD JOHN TRUMP!")

  2. Because Trump has not held political office before 2017, he has made outrageous remarks for a long time. Other politicians have held office for decades, and thus are less likely to have such potentially explosive statements in the past.

  3. +John E. Bredehoft Well, Reagan certainly has a similar star of fame, and the match of the salient TV icon to the horned second beast that performs prodigies like letting fire from fall the sky to the sight of men, nicely fits with how the movie "The Day After" featuring the nuclear Apocalypse served as background to Reagan's "Star Wars" Strategic Defence Initiative. However Trump is catching up with his Space Force.

BTW, don't let yourself be swayed by the "metagenomic" concept of Antichrist that's not in the text and unifies a diversity of figures in it. George W. Bush is in turn a spectacular fit to Revelation 9 that neither Reagan nor Trump can beat, once you equate the surreal locusts to the imaginary WMD that weren't used by the 9/11 attackers and later not found in Iraq.
