Unblogged Bits for 03/11/09

Links that caught my eye …

  • Say hello to your future Light Bulb.
Yes. This is, in fact, the future, unless something triffically better comes along. In fact, the biggest problem with these is the reluctance to replace incandescents with CFLs *now* for fear they won’t be burnt out by the time LEDs take top billing.
  • this isn’t a book; it’s a time machine
I got into D&D in some earlier incarnations than this — but I cannot forget my first gameplay and characters or their adventures. Cool.

  1. Woot! The re-feed worked! And the components of the feed worked based on the notes in the previous “Unblogged Bits” post. (I will be pulling together notes on this for a subsequent post, for those looking for info).

Now to poke at it again until it breaks.

  2. Ha! That’s the edition of D&D I started GMing with at age 11! =) Good times, good times.

And Keep on the Borderlands . .. do I love thee? T

  3. I bought the Basic D&D boxed set in ’78. I ran some guys from work through Module B1, which was forevermore known as “Killer Dungeon B1”!

  4. I started off with a freshman hall-mate’s original little gray books (making up critters to go with the names/stats), then later with the old blue book. Didn’t really get into it until AD&D, by which time everyone was doing home-brew rules in my college game-play circle.
