- Yet another reason to toss out DOMA – I agree fully. I know exactly what DOMA’s defenders would say, though, and I won’t honor it by repeating it.
- MAKE: Blog : HOW TO – Tie the 10 most useful knots – Let’s just say that I was never, um, proficient with knots as a Boy Scout, and leave it at that.

- This Is Why You Don’t Order From Fad Diet & Wellness Sites [Scams] – Not surprising, save for the explicit mockery.
- Spacebat slips the surly bonds of life – Go, Spacebat, go!
- People who use barrels to catch rain from their roofs breaking law, says State of Colorado – I understand what’s being said here, and what the legal and communal basis for this sort of thing is, but it easily devolves into a reductio ad absurdem farce.

- The Military-Industrial Complex Ain’t Gonna Like It – Even if some potentially useful weapons get included in the housecleaning, the value of the lesson to contractors (and Congress) that we’ll just keep shoveling money into grotesquely late and inflated weapons systems will be more than worth it.
- Republicans in full whine mode because Obama is going to work around their obstructionist tactics – And, having established (over strenuous objections from his supporters) his desire for bipartisanship and having made repeated (over same objections) attempts at it, only to be bitchslapped each time … now he has the ethical (and political) justification to give the GOP the finger and do what he wants to do.
- Dolphins blowing bubble rings at Seaworld. – Well when you’re stuck in a tank all day long, except for when you’re entertaining the visitors, you gotta find something to do, and smoking ciggies out on the back step isn’t really an option here.
- Should We Start a SyFy Death Watch? – Adages – Advertising Age – Money graf: “The channel should have been spending the week celebrating the series finale of “Battlestar Galactica,” one of the best shows to hit TV in the last 20 years. Instead, it’s spending the week being mocked.”
- What Happens If You Don’t Respond to Someone’s Sneeze? – Wow. That’s really … goofy. I mean, 99.999% of people respond with some sort of vocalization to a sneeze, but it’s generally the lightest of social noises, with perhaps a bit of concern over the person’s health. I don’t know that I’ve ever read of anyone (outside of a history book) worried that if someone didn’t bless them Bad Things Would Happen. Weird.
- Best Buy Not Honoring Price Match Guarantee [Best Buy] – Swell. Given that we’re likely to be buying a TV from Best Buy in the next week or so …

On the syfy silliness, I think it has now reached the level of “New Coke”.
Yup.
My auto-digest-from-GReader is, clearly, having some closure issues, such that it’s repeating it multiple times. I’ve changed another setting, so we’ll see if that helps.
