Links that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries …
- Firedoglake » Death and Taxes – Proof that there is, perhaps, a God.
- Trolling for Jesus – What a scumbag. And, no, it’s not acceptable behavior to this Christian.
- Ex-Bush admin official: Many at Gitmo are innocent – The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.
- Barry the Coral Ripper [Zooillogix] – WHAT LURKS BELOW …?
- Zencore Plus Recalled Because You Might Die [Zencore Plus]: Ben Popken
- 70th anniversary of Sutton Hoo’s discovery: David Beard
- New in Labs: Undo Send – This is … pretty cool. I will have to play with it.
- Disney Locks in Magical Express with great deal – DME is the greatest thing going if you’re visiting Walt Disney World. From check-in at your airport to your room, your bags just magically get there. Plus there’s a comfy bus ride to/from the resort. A serious Quality of Life feature.
- Live like you Hate the Logo – I don’t think the price was outrageous (compared to most logo projects). I just think it’s a stupid tourism motto and a dubious graphic and a really ugly selection of fonts.
- A Macro Post on Micro-Irrigation – Drip systems like this rock. And, remarkably, if you hook it to your sprinklers (replacing a head), it stands up to winterizing/blowing-out just fine. We have a drip system under our back deck, and the new front yard has drip hose running through all the beds. Keen!
- Neil Gaiman’s Journal: Hugo Thoughts – I guess I’m enough of an SF purist to not be thrilled “Graveyard Book” is up for a Hugo (Gaiman himself had the same issue re “Anansi Boys”). But it’s an excellent book, and the only one on the list I’ve read.
- So here’s something I didn’t know (or forgot) – Yeah, this one has been an annoyance. I always fill in the TITLE text on images and leave ALT blank. I rarely put a TITLE on links, though it’s kind of cool to do so on links that are neither clear (“click here”) nor intuitive from the URL (“What’s this tinyurl thing”). And, btw, yet another case of Microsoft “extending” a standard — though, in this case, it’s one that it probably wouldn’t hurt FF to extend as well, whether it’s proper or not.
- Walk the Piccadilly Line – Cool idea. Nice logo.
- Walkers urged not to pick up stones to build bigger carins – Idjits.
- Irony Board: How many ways can Senate Republicans show intellectual hypocrisy? – A very detailed, and irksome, take-down.
- Producer: Jetsons live-action movie still a go – It’s hard to think of how this will be a Good Thing, as much as (or especially as) I love the Jetsons.
