Took a bit of time last night to convert my “Doing Write” blog over from Movable Type to WordPress, since I’ve been making actual use of it. (DW is where I do my “writing” posting, of which I’ve not been doing much (posting or writing)).
I’m sort of getting the hang of doing WP installs, though every template is its own set of challenges. In the case of DW, it was a couple of hours, tops. There are still a few things not quite working right, but it’s not exactly a high traffic blog that I’m too worried about it.
That leaves, for significant MT installations still on my server, just BD and Margie’s recipe blog. Maybe those would be productive things to play with while I’m “batching it” when Margie and Katherine are in California in a couple of weeks.
Yay, you used one of the Themes I liked, and it really fits well as a theme for a writting blog. 🙂
Kind of my thought. 🙂 Though that theme is pretty artsy-hardcoded, which makes tweaking it a bit difficult.
If you can come to some “conclusions” on a theme, I can jump on things pretty quickly. Let me know.
How about setting up a day/evening while you are “Batching it”?
Let’s say Tuesday night, 2 June, prolly starting around 8:30p or so.
Basic install is prolly going to be about an hour or so, the rest is polishing and playing with it until it breaks, which I can leave to you.
