We bought our pumpkins at my church’s pumpkin patch. They had some great non-standard pumpkins, including the white one (which has a 2″ shell, fergoshsakes!) and the warty one. Fun stuff.
Oh, excellent! I was big into Greek and Roman mythology at her age, too. Didn’t delve into Norse until I started reading Marvel comics (Dave knew much more about it than I did at that point, as I recall).
Not surprisingly, as a bookworm, Athena was always my favorite, too. 🙂 Has Kay seen the original Clash of the Titans? We called Bubo “Owltoo-Detoo.” 😀
Love the pumpkin with the growths – very ghoulish. Have a fun night!

I like the owl!
That was Kay’s idea. 🙂
And an excellent idea it was! I would never have thought of it, and I’m a birder. How did it come to her?
I think she thought of it in conjunction with her current mythology kick, as an owl related to Athena. But I’ll ask.
Yes she wanted to do something for Athena, her current favorite goddess. Several younger kids thought Dave’s warty pumpkin was scary.
rc: mission watrits – what is watrits?

We actually watched it (again) not too long ago.
