Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Honeycomb Is The First Shot Fired Along Apple’s Bow – I might very well consider an Android tablet in the future …
- Georgia Lawmaker Believes Drivers’ Licenses Are Too Much Government Intrusion – Why, yes, he IS a Republican. How do did you guess?
- A Question for Republicans Who Want to Kill Teacher Tenure for Bad Teachers [Mike the Mad Biologist] – And the argument here points out precisely why teacher tenure is so important — not to protect the incompetent teacher (certainly a problem), but to protect teachers from retribution for teaching the “wrong” thing.
- Why Letting Yourself Make Mistakes Means Making Fewer of Them | Psychology Today – “Focusing on getting better means always thinking in terms of progress, not perfection.” Very, very true. And very, very hard (speaking personally).
- Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty For Mailing Live Puppy – Okay, I volunteer to be one of the people to slap this asshat silly.
- Family Wakes Up To Cell Tower In Front Yard – Yeah, clearly something that a little midnight landscaping can take care of. Though who knows … maybe it really helps their household cell reception (God knows I’d be tempted if that were the case).
- Spray-On Skin: A Demonstration [Video] – Science fiction meets reality …
- San Francisco Supervisor Criticized For Not Saying Pledge Of Allegiance – How dare she engage in political dissent! That’s positively un-American, as all the Founders would quickly tell you!
- The Google Art Project Launches – Very cool …
- Asking People if They Have Seen Themselves – O wad sum pow’r the giftie gie us …
- 10 Nerdiest Roles of David Warner – Topless Robot – Page 1 – David Warner truly rocks.
- Flickr Accidentally Wipes Out Account: Five Years And 4,000 Photos Down The Drain – The fact that a deleted account cannot be restored, in toto, is mildly appalling … but a supporting reason why I treat Flickr as a public mirror of my photo collection, not as the source.
- Republicans Vote To Repeal Obama-Backed Bill That Would Destroy Asteroid Headed For Earth – The free market is the best way to deal with global armageddon!
- Rand Paul Email Touts False Gun Conspiracy About U.N. Treaty That Doesn’t Exist – Don’t let the facts interfere with our critical fact-challenged fund-raising!

5. I hope a judge sentences her to be mailed to prison. Preferably one far away.
11. David Warner is another actor that I tend to identify by voice. I know him mainly from the Batman animated series and from Time After Time, although I’ve seen him in another two of the listed appearances (bet you can guess which two!).
13. Obviously we cannot waste taxpayer money tracking the asteroid and warning people prior to an impact. It’s up to private citizens to watch for asteroids on a collision course with their planet.
14. He sees gun-grabbers. I see a cash-grabber. Generous contributions, indeed!
13. Citizens have the right, in a free market economy, to choose which planet to live on, and to freely choose (without government interference) a different one if the one they are on is hit by an asteroid. That’s how the American system works!
14. I would feel far less irked at these sorts of donation spams if, after alerting people to the problem, they didn’t turn it into a pitch for money. “Muslims are sending gays to take our guns! Send us money to help fight them in Congress!” Unsubtle as all hell, and just as suspicious.
