So why does the new London City Hall look like it should be Mojo Jojo’s Secret Headquarters?

The design brief was to create a headquarters building that would become a new landmark for the capital. The design by Foster’s and Partners expresses the transparency of the democratic process and promotes the image of a modern vibrant world city.

I agree that’s it’s quite noteworthy. I think the “transparency” (because of all the glass, one presumes) thang is more poetic license by the architects than real symbolism (“By Jove! All those windows! Clearly a government one can trust!”).

Still, one wonders — in 50 years, or 100, or 200 — what will people think of it? Assuming the damn thing lasts that long.
