The article suggests that GOP primary voters / poll-takers are worrying more about electability of their presidential primary candidates (vs. Obama) than about what they believe in.
I'm not sure I agree, given the battle for the Conservative Base part of the primaries — where we've seen Perry, then Cain, then Gingrich, then perhaps even Santorum bob upward before imploding. Romney, arguably the most electable candidate, has not been able to establish much traction beyond his initial supporters. And certainly Ron Paul's loyal fans are sticking with him for his ideas, not for his (sorry, still dubious) electability.
I think it will be interesting to see what shakes out after the (thank God they're almost here) Iowa caucuses. I suspect we'll lose at least 1 (Huntsman) contender, possibly 2-3. #ddtb
