Facebook Gives Politico Deep Access to Users’ Political Sentiments
A partnership between Facebook and Politico announced today is one of the more far-reaching efforts to understand how social media users feel about U.S. election candidates.
I'm more convinced nearly every day that I will never join FB.
It's the only place you can go for certain people, unfortunately … but I keep my presence there to a minimum, even though I don't have anything in particular to hide.
"…you are the product" has become a truism of free web services but the providers thereof are stupid not to listen to their users. So it is still worth speaking up.
Certainly, George — esp. since if enough folks get torqued or fed up, then the value of the product to advertisers, etc., dwindles (ask the MySpace and Yahoo folks).
