Yeah, I've felt this way about most of the GOP field this year. "Yeah, wouldn't be cool if Gingrich (Santorum, Perry, Bachmann) won the GOP nomination? Obama would be a shoe-in!" "Yeah, but what if something awful, unforeseen, unpredicted happened, and they won instead?"
So, yeah, while I agree with the analysis that a Gingrich nomination would probably lead to a Democratic win (possibly a big win, with Congressional gains) in the fall … it's just not worth the risk to root for him. Romney, for all that I don't want him for president, seems the "least worst" bet to me. #ddtb
