Religious discrimination due to group spending

This particular bit jumped out at me: 'The Catholic bishops shot back Friday, saying it was misleading to say that no one would be forced to "buy" contraceptives, because everyone who contributes to an insurance plan will be paying a portion of the subsidy that provides for free contraception.'

This raises a bunch of interesting questions.

Can Jehovah's Witnesses object to insurance covering blood transfusions? Even if they don't partake, aren't they contributing to insurance plans and so paying a portion of the subsidy that provides for blood transfusions?

Can anti-vaxxers demand a religious (because, let's face it, they have a religious fervor about their cause) exemption to providing insurance for vaccinations?

Taken a bit more broadly, can I object to paying taxes because some of my tax money goes to things I consider morally objectionable?

Is all that is permissible that which the least common denominator consider acceptable? In which case, how do we have any laws at all? #ddtb
