Political Preaching to the Choir

I'm not quite sure whether the Right is the only group that suffers from epistemic closure (though it does seem more pronounced from my not-unbiased perspective).  

More important here, though, is that good ol' end-of-election scramble for the "undecided" vote. Things like the "redistribution" teapot tempest aren't meant to sway committed Obama supporters, though they might gin up a bit more campaign contributions from dedicated / scared Romneyites.   It's all aimed at the X% who can't decide yet who is the lesser of two evils, in hopes of nudging them over to Romney's camp.  It's difficult to tell what the effect is because most of the folks commenting on it are already dedicated to one side of the election or the other.
