House GOP ekes out fiscal cliff deal, leave Hurricane Sandy for next Congress
Exhausted by fiscal cliff deal, they didn't even vote on their "We don't believe they need all that money, we'll just given them less than half of it" alternative bill. Classy.

Please Dave, they didn't vote because that bill is full of BS Pork, $9B worth! Including millions for fisheries in Alaska, roof repairs at the Smithsonian in DC, new cars for federal agencies, etc… Maybe if the Senate would have put together a bill that was actually only for the Sandy victims, it would have been voted on and passed.
Put the blame on Senate Dem's for this one please, greedy SOB's can't even put a bill together for a true crisis without trying to sneak in pet project funding.
If you're going to blame Senate Democrats for House Republicans not even voting on their own bill, you may as well blame them for the sun rising.
The House GOP had made those noises already, +Keith Bloemendaal, a couple of weeks back, and suggested they would pass their own relief bill. They didn't even bother to get that done.
And given that the Senate GOP can (and has) blocked any bill they haven't cared for over the last four years, if we blame the Senate Dems, we'll have to blame the Senate GOP, too.
Dave, your original post is pure propaganda, and you know it. "We don't think they need all that money so we'll just give them half"? Not worth debating with someone that spews that crap. It's lies and propaganda, similar to the sh*t MSNBC would say on Rachel Maddox show or something.
If you wanted to post something like:
Senate Democrats once again tried to use a crisis to pass along pork and pet projects in the Sandy Relief Bill, but the House GOP didn't amend it and vote on it, so now we have to wait another week or so to get that bill re-written
That is probably more accurate.
+David Wintheiser I have no clue what the heck you are even talking about. It was a Senate Bill, not a House Bill.
+Keith Bloemendaal, +David Wintheiser is referring to the House GOP version of the bill that they talked about passing instead, so as to show they gave a flying rat's ass about the disaster victims, the one that supposedly cleaned up of all the awful, awful pork, and only included bits and piece that the House team had vetted as being Really Necessary.
(I do call that "They don't need all that money so we'll just give them half.")
Then they decided to go home and not give anybody anything, leaving the next Congress to address those relief bills from scratch.
I'm sure the people who are trying to recover from Sandy won't mind waiting around another few weeks.
I call it "If the senate Dem's truly cared about those Sandy victims, they wouldn't have tried to sneak pet projects like millions for Alaskan fisheries in the bill"
I suppose my version isn't valid because we differ in opinion though. It's ok, I am used to it.
