Bad news on the water front, as even optimists don’t hold out much hope that Colorado’s water woes will be any better next year.

I buy bottled water and take super short showers I never bathe. I promise!!! Really! Honestly, I do my part to keep the water in the Colorado River OUT of California. (Okay…..don’t point out any of the obvious on that one.)
If they want us to stop importing their water, they’d better start exporting a bit of that cool weather. It’s going to be 90º F in Riverside again tomorrow! Pfui!
Ahhhhhhh … I love Colorado in the autumn …
The trick to the super short shower – take a cue from the coin operated ones at the campground… Run the water long enought to get fully wet, then turn it off to soap up and shampoo, then run the water just long enough to rinse clean.
I just can’t – CAN’T – do this in a Michigan winter -we keep the house heat set to 64 degrees. So I am a bad girl. Sigh.
If you’re really an idealist, put containers in the bottom of the shower to catch the ‘greywater’ and use this to water your decorative plants (not recommended for edibles, and trade watering with grey water with watering with fresh to keep the soil from getting sour.
I used to recycle (water with) the greywater from Kitten’s little bathtub, but that’s about as diligent as I get with that sort of thing.
The tree sacks are going well, though.
