Interesting. Tampa is pulling the plug on facial recognition software in its police surveillance cameras. After two years of usage, it produced no positive IDs and no arrests.

Originally touted as a way to identify wanted felons and runaway kids, the system has never had any confirmed hits.

The cameras using the software will stay online, however, since the cops have actually been able to make arrests that way.

So Big Brother will still be watching you … but only with eyeballs. They seem to work better.
