An open letter to Bolling and Gutfeld

Because making sniggering jokes about women isn't just about poor taste or juvenile hi-jinx.

An Open Letter To Fox News About ‘Boobs On The Ground’
Dear Mr. Bolling and Mr. Gutfeld,

We are veterans of the United States armed forces, and we are writing to inform you that your remarks about United Arab Emirates Air Force Major Mariam Al Mansouri were unwarranted, offensive, and fundamentally opposed to what the military taught us to stand for.

  1. Of all the various snarky and stupid remarks that one might hear on Fox News — and they are legion — I'm not sure why this one has torqued me off so much.

Perhaps it's just the damned sense of entitlement that Bolling (and the marginally less offensive Gutfeld) seem to hold, to make demeaning jokes about a woman who has, I have no doubt, busted her ass to get to where she is today, and whose actions are not only inspiring but a massive slap in the face to the Islamic fundamentalist asshats of ISIL.

And while dolts like Bolling are busy fearmongering about those same ISIL types, they're utterly tone-deaf to how their sophomoric attempts at humor are perfectly aligned with ISIL's misogyny.

"Insufferable pricks," as +Colm Buckley puts it succinctly.
